My little sister and I "modeling" (that is, wearing while striking a pose) the dresses Lily designed!

Uncle Marty asked for it and so here it is! Tokyo all dressed up in her handcrafted Halloween Costume!

F.A.Q s

What is she?

Well, it's open for interpretation I think. Some suggestions I liked were 'iCloud,'  'Hurricane Sandy' and 'All Dogs Go To Heaven.'

Why is she dressed up in an handcrafted Halloween Costume?

She was participating, for the second year, in the annual Doggie Halloween Costume Contest. Last year she was a LEGO®  and although she didn't win (technically), for all intents and purposes she did as she was featured on the poster for the event this year. Yes, she is literally a poster child dog. Observe.

What is that cloud costume made of?

It's a paper-mache structure with laboriously applied pillow stuffing. Below is a photo of Tokyo trying on the costume mid-construction.

So, wait, can I see a photo of her doing some cloud-like stuff? For example hanging out with a plane or a superhero?

(Incidentially, this plane dog won second place in the contest.)

Thanks to all of you.

I think it’s about time to thank all of my wonderful family for their love and good wishes. It’s been several months and hard work, but I’m healing and making great progress. I am able to live alone again and take care of myself. As of last week I have permission to drive. Vic, Marty and Josef are back to having Friday night dinner here at my home. This accident has proved what I already knew. My children and grandchildren are the best. When I got home Scott came to Minneapolis and took care of me for a week. Then Leslie came for ten days. Marty, Vic and Josef have been there every step of the way taking care of my every need. Their love and support is what made my recuperation so much easier. My nieces and nephews and their families are always close no matter how far away they live, with phone calls, emails, etc.. Those of you who live in Minneapolis have been such a big help in so many ways. I am blessed. Thanks again for everything.

I love you all.

Myra

P. S. If you get a chance, listen to Josh Groban sing “ Raise Me Up”. It’s the way I feel about all of you.

Red Dress

Big day today in Providence.

This is the first glimpse of her machine knitting project. There is another piece from a different knit design class project that we haven't seen, yet. Lily found out this evening that this piece was chosen for RISD's spring show. We are all so very excited.

Guest judges, Tommy Hilfiger and Robert Gellar, were very enthusiastic about her design, loving the varied use of machine knitting.

Thanks for reading my brag. Stay warm & dry everyone
